LG's cumulative shipments of OLED TVS have exceeded 10 million units. This is the result of three quarters of super-fast growth. While the overall market is clearly peaking (meaning it has peaked and is showing signs of decline), LG OLED TV has maintained a double growth trend year-on-year, with cumulative shipments reaching 10 million units.
According to market research firm Omdia on Wednesday, LG's OLED TV shipments reached 899,000 units in the third quarter of this year. That was up about 80 percent from a year earlier and the largest third-quarter shipments on record. As of the third quarter of this year, LG OLED TV shipments totaled 2.635 million units. Not only was that more than double the three quarters last year, but it also surpassed last year's annual shipments. Shipments this year are likely to double from last year to 4 million. Since the launch of LG OLED TVS in 2013, cumulative shipments have exceeded 10 million units in the third quarter. It took nearly seven years to reach 5 million units and less than two years to reach 10 million units.
Vaxtarþróunin er veruleg í ljósi þess að LG OLED sjónvörp eru besta hágæða vörulínan, sagði Omdia. ASP LG OLED TVS seld á alþjóðlegum sjónvarpsmarkaði á þriðja ársfjórðungi þessa árs var 1,863,5 dollarar. Það er þrisvar sinnum meðalverðið 643,5 DOLLAR (750,000 vann) á LCD sjónvörpum sem seld eru á heimsmarkaði.
LG Electronics' total TV shipments, including LCD TVS, totaled 6,472,000 units. Overall OLED TV shipments, including LG OLED, also increased to 1,539,000 units from the previous quarter. Quarterly shipments exceeded 1.5 million units for the second consecutive quarter. Shipments have grown more than 65 percent over the past three quarters. Global OLED TV shipments are expected to exceed 2 million units for the first time ever in the fourth quarter, when TV demand will peak for the year.
In the global TV market, OLED's weight exceeded double digits after the previous quarter. This year, LG Electronics has more than 60 percent of the overall OLED TV market, measured by shipments, and is driving the growth of the fast-growing next-generation self-luminous TVS. The number of brands selling OLED TVS rose to 20 this year and several new companies are scheduled to join next year, with the expansion expected to accelerate further.
